Hi everyone! I enhanced this post with more “connective” tissue and a video. Enjoy!
Rumi said, “Everyone sees the unseen in proportion to the clarity of his heart, and that depends upon how much he has polished it. Whoever has polished it more sees more – more unseen forms become manifest to him.” Hellen Keller said it too, “The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched – they must be felt with the heart.” Today I am writing about something you can see, but maybe don’t understand, as well as something you cannot see, and how they are working together for good.
In my last post, which was a video presentation, I asked the question “What are we?” Intelligent life forms, ecosystems with 100 trillion microbiota, a unique mixture of matter and energy, male and female, made in the “image” of God, etc. I mentioned that almost 99% of the mass of the human body is made up of six elements: oxygen, carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, calcium, and phosphorus. The remaining 0.85% is composed of another five elements: potassium, sulfur, sodium, chlorine, and magnesium. Without these 11 elements, there is no life.
This led into the idea that everything is symbiotic, that mutualism and commensalism work in our favor, but parasitic symbiosis does not. The parasite benefits while the host is harmed and eventually this destroys life as we know it. I personally think that parasites are a disease within the human race, not something that’s natural. Something unnatural caused “parasites” among the human race, and if you watched my presentation, this is where I may have lost you because it wasn’t fully formed in my own mind, and therefore I didn’t explain it thoroughly. But parasitic symbiosis within society is built on systemic slavery.
There are various forms of hidden slavery throughout the world: labor slavery, forced marriage slavery, sex slavery, and child slavery. An example is Congolese child cobalt mining slavery, but there are many many more. In large part, modern-day slavery is driven by dollar hegemony. The U.S. government has a powerful military and an arsenal of “sanctions” which it uses to keep the dollar as the world reserve currency, at the center of world trade. As such, it has forcibly “borrowed” from the rest of the world using an endless supply of blank checks. Because the world is obliged to hold dollars, the supply never outweighs demand, and the dollar’s value has remained strong. But if the world were to stop holding dollars, the U.S. would fall apart and the empire would collapse.
What’s more, U.S. corporations have weakened their own people by moving production and jobs overseas, to take advantage of cheap labor or “slave” labor in countries that suffer severely from dollar hegemony. This has changed the scope of employment in our nation and has catapulted entertainment (social media, gaming, movies, shows, devices, etc.) to the top of the market. By importing most of our stuff inexpensively from the East, Americans have a high standard of living. But this standard rests on the dollar, backed by nearly $30 trillion in debt, supported by the world’s “faith” and credit in America. At least functionally, the U.S. government, U.S. corporatocracy, and its 800+ military bases strategically located all around the world makes it seem unbreakable.
The truth is that the U.S. is a parasite and the world is its host, and this is a systemic problem. Slavery was rare if not non-existent among the hunter gathers. It developed under the conditions of social stratification among the first civilizations like Sumer and Mesopotamia, dating back to 3500 BC, and has been the fuel behind the system ever since. Enslavement feeds on itself, depicted by the ouroboros (or uroboros), an ancient Egyptian symbol of a serpent eating its own tail. This symbol has been interpreted as a cycle of life, death, and rebirth, as well as the beginning (genesis) and end of time. If you use your imagination, you can see that the serpent’s fuel is its own body, and eventually it devours itself.
There are two great perspectives of this concept in my bookmarks, in the menu bar at the top of this page. The first is Financialization and the Road to Zero (September, 2020). This essay is long, but it covers the history of the ouroboros in our financial and economic system, from the hunter gatherers to modern times, without mentioning the ouroboros itself. The second is The Allegory of the Hawk and Serpent (audio version) by Artemis Capital Management. The written version is also available with charts (January, 2020). Author Christopher Cole does mention the ouroboros in his works.
The first known appearance of the ouroboros is in the tomb of Tutankhamen (King Tut). In the Enigmatic Book of the Netherworld (an ancient Egyptian funerary text), there is a huge figure that spans the entire height of the three registers, which is believed to be the mummiform figure of King Tut. This figure has been named, “He who hides the Hours.” Both his head and feet are surrounded by history’s earliest known representation of the ouroboros. In the center left is a rope, upheld by seven adoring gods, tugging at the reproductive area of the human figure. The art as a whole looks like a mathematical formula to me, but I haven’t cracked any codes.
Exodus, in the Old Testament, is the story of how God led Moses to free the Hebrews from slavery under the Egyptian government and set up a new economic and social order for God’s people. Pharaoh, the Egyptian ruler in the story, doesn’t have a name, but a Jewish scholar working in Jerusalem suggested that the Pharaoh of the Exodus was none other than King Tutankhamen. This is significant because it further connects the idea of the ouroboros to ancient and modern-day slavery.
The world economic system is built on imperialism and slavery. Fueled by power (military) and debt, the system itself is parasitic, bringing in more and more parasites as it grows. The mother parasites continually own a greater percentage of everything without doing any real work, and the system is designed to support them into perpetuity, through a giant pyramid scheme, as long as there is somebody (some body) left to devour. Ordinary people, on the other hand, own less and less while doing more. If they are not doing more, then artificial intelligence is doing more, making humans stupider. Super-rich parasites love their host (humanity), but what they don’t understand is that their host, which is their own body, is disappearing. As the host goes, so goes the parasite…unless he can attach himself to a new host called technology, with technology then becoming the parasite (like in The Matrix film).
It may be easier to think of parasitic people as cancer, where abnormal cells divide uncontrollably and destroy normal body tissue. They are microscopic in size, but the damage they do is tremendous. They have contaminated the entire world, and this brings us to the present, where the financial system is indeed falling apart under tremendous growing debt. The Fed has to keep bailing out banks, corporations, etc. to make the super-rich, super richer! Meanwhile, small businesses are going bankrupt and people are starving. Parasites stop the natural cycle of things and impose their own will. They use distractions to keep you from realizing that they are eating you alive. It is the equivalent of your grandfathers deciding to live forever, making no room for new babies to populate the earth, while convincing you of the detriment of babies. There is no room for change, for new healthy businesses to emerge, and no way for the body to clean out the unprofitable zombie companies supported by the enormous credit bubble. The dollar is so cheap and worthless from over-supply and endless printing that it costs virtually nothing to borrow now.
There is a solution right in front of our eyes, but most of us don’t see it because we are distracted and intoxicated by the poison of the parasites. You may get free health insurance, or free medical care, or special privileges, or checks from the government that allow you to pay your bills and buy stuff. Your dollars are holding their value now and you are doing fine, so your lips are sealed and there’s nothing to complain about. The stock market is a casino, but so what?! You are still benefiting from the sick and broken body. What you don’t understand is that when the body is gone, the parasites at the top of the pyramid will consume the parasites at the bottom, until humanity is just gone. The Great Reset is designed to continue the same old process, with ordinary people losing everything and the one percent taking it all. They’ll trap you through debt (for example, the stock market crashes, real estate collapses…and oops, you can’t pay that mortgage and the parasites take your home). Isn’t that what happened to a lot of folks in 2008?
So let’s go back to Exodus 3:22 to see God’s plan to bring his people out of slavery. Remember what this was about: slavery! The whole story of God’s relationship with man, in the Christian religion anyway, has been to bring him out of slavery and have fellowship. Before the Hebrews left Egypt, God told them to do something, through Moses: “Every woman is to ask her neighbor and any woman living in her house for articles of silver and gold and for clothing, which you will put on your sons and daughters. And so you will plunder the Egyptians.” Isn’t that interesting! God told them to go get that silver and gold and take it from the Egyptians. It’s a fascinating clue that hasn’t been thought through, especially given God’s place and gold’s place in the world today. There is a lot to say about this, but I’ve written plenty of other posts that you can read about gold and the monetary system.
From what I know about slavery then, and how I see slavery in the world today, I’d equate the Egyptian government (Pharaoh) to the American government (the Fed). I expect to see an ouroboros on the Fed’s tomb, just as we saw on King Tut’s. Gold is first mentioned in Genesis 2:12, “The gold of that land is good…” Gold is good because it cannot be printed or made by man or made in China or leveraged or manipulated. In Genesis 13:2, the Bible defines wealth also; “Abram had become very wealthy in livestock and in silver and gold.” Notice that wealth is real tangible things, not paper currency, digital codes, or IOUs for credit and faith. But, this knowledge also came with a clear and direct warning from God, “Do not make any gods to be alongside me; do not make for yourselves gods of silver or gods of gold” (Exodus 20:23).
I don’t believe that humanity was supposed to become parasitic or cancerous, devouring its own body. Human beings were made to work, to love each other, not to feed off each other, not to benefit at the other’s detriment. It is very clear that God worked; Genesis 2:2 says, “By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work.” And God expects us to work too; Genesis 2:15 says, “The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it”. Notice, God didn’t make man to force other men to work while he sat back sipping martinis. Unfortunately, work isn’t what it used to be…you have to invent it within Caesar’s parasitic system, to earn Caesar’s money, to survive in Caesar’s world. Let’s hope not forever! And it’s not, according to the story of Jesus Christ.
Not long ago, I was trying to get an MRI approved through my insurance company. The insurance company’s contractor kept denying it, and my doctor had a worker in his office whose sole job was to appeal insurance company denials. So if I called the insurance company, they would always refer me to this other company that they contracted with to review requests. And if I called the doctor’s office, I was usually only speaking to the woman whose job it was to deal with insurance and contractors. No wonder health care is so expensive; there is so much waste in the system! Jobs have evolved to help the parasitic system grow, not to help people or humanity evolve. I think about the workers in the grocery store whose only job is to stand there when you walk in and say hello. You just don’t see that in developing countries, where work is real labor.
In Genesis 1:26, God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” Again, God did not make us to rule over each other, but to rule over (or “to take care of” is a better phrase) the Garden that God made. The more that you learn about this special Garden, which drives the plot in my novel Love Evil: An extraordinary journey of the heart, the more you understand your God-given purpose on Earth. It sure isn’t the American dream. It’s something much better.
If you think about it, Jesus was completely and totally against parasitic systems. Satan, on the other hand, was the opposite. The energy of Jesus is love, and it always has been. The energy of Satan is power made by wealth, made by slavery. You take one side or another whether you believe in God or not. From a scientific approach, symbiotic mutualism helps us evolve toward eternal life, while symbiotic parasitism destroys life as we know it. There’s a reason why Jesus teaches us to love our neighbor as ourselves, to forgive others, to turn the other cheek, to look at the plank in your eye before you criticize the speck in your brother’s, to die to self so that he can live through you, etc.1 John 4:16 says God is love. And love is the only defense we have against parasites.
Parasitic symbiosis is the great sickness that we inflict upon ourselves. We all “tolerate” it because we get something for nothing from it, but it isn’t good for us or our well being. We figure out how to game the system and get by with what we want and need. But if we don’t work together to change it, our humanity will end in either nuclear war, biowarfare, destruction of the earth, or artificial intelligence taking over our. That’s where these parasites are leading us, and that ain’t where I want to go! Becoming a parasite can be very tempting, but we should really try and resist. This is why I write; to enlighten people. It is my hope that people wake up to what’s really happening to them and the rest of the world. Our humanity is both resilient and delicate; it can be altered and destroyed, but we are always growing somewhere.
When the Hebrews didn’t use gold the way God intended it to be used, God got very angry. I think there’s more to understand in the Bible about gold and this anger; there’s more to the story of the golden calf. The Hebrews encouraged each other with conjecture, “Come, make us gods [the golden calf] who will go before us. As for this fellow Moses who brought us up out of Egypt, we don’t know what has happened to him” (Exodus 32:21). What other purpose would God have for gold? I haven’t studied this from a Biblical perspective, but gold is intrinsically linked to economic freedom, to the society that God probably intended for humanity. Just read Revelation 21, where the streets of the new kingdom are made of pure gold. Figuratively speaking, this could represent such freedom.
Gold is mentioned 441 times and silver is mentioned 305 times in the Bible (NIV). Bitcoin is mentioned zero, if this tells you anything. Gold is sourced from real labor and exchangeable for real labor. It takes real labor to take it out of the ground. Bitcoin is sourced from using gobs of energy and has no relationship to human labor. Beware, Bitcoin is fool’s gold, sporting a real “gold” coin as its logo. Real money, throughout the Bible, is measured by weight of either gold, silver, copper or brass. If you are a Christian, I highly recommend The Biblical Case Against Inflation by Dr. Judd W. Patton. While the Fed is encouraging inflation, the Bible is strictly against it. Here’s a small but powerful excerpt from Dr. Patton’s essay:
God requires that all commercial and financial transactions be made in terms of honest weights and measures. He therefore defined precise units of account for length, weight, and volume transactions (Ezekiel 45:9-12), and commanded that, “You shall do no injustice in judgment, in measurement of length, weight, or volume (Leviticus 19:35). He even promised the blessing of long life for obedience to His standards (Deuteronomy 25:15).5
However, use of the equal-arm weighing balance permitted three basic ways a merchant could defraud another person. One could: (1) “rig” the balance itself, (2) use stones or weights that are not the inscribed weight, or (3) weigh out a debased money, mixed with inferior metals, against a legitimate weight. But God made it abundantly clear that, “For all who do such things, and all who behave unrighteously, are an abomination to the LORD your God” (Deuteronomy 25:16). See also Deuteronomy 25:13 -15, Proverbs 11:1, and Proverbs 16:11.
Since righteousness is defined as keeping the commandments (Psalms 119:172), falsifying the balance by monetary debasement (#3 above) is an unrighteous, fraudulent act outlawed by the eighth commandment against stealing. God outlawed monetary debasement (inflation) and any other form of it by the Ten Commandments.
Yet the Bible records numerous references for our benefit about the unheeding Israelites. They suffered the effects of higher goods’ prices by dishonestly increasing the quantity of money. Notice Isaiah 1:22: “Your silver has become dross, your wine mixed with water.” Dross is the scum on the surface of molten metal. Ignoring God’s directives, the Israelites had resorted to the fraudulent activity of mixing their silver money with inferior metals, thus increasing the supply dishonestly and prices accordingly.
The prophets Amos and Micah record scathing indictments: “Hear this, you who swallow up the needy, and make the poor of the land fail, … Making the ephah [grain measure] small and the shekel large [by debasing the money so more of it was needed to buy a given product thereby causing consumers to pay higher shekel prices], falsifying the balances by deceit, that we may buy the poor for silver, and the needy for a pair of sandals, even all the bad [inferior] wheat (Amos 8:4-6). In Micah 6:10-11 we read: “Are there yet the treasures of wickedness [inflation and/or fraudulent gains] in the house of the wicked, and the short measure that is an abomination? Shall I count pure those with the wicked balances, and with the bag of deceitful weights?”
Now it is possible to understand James 5:3: “Your gold and silver are corroded, and their corrosion will be a witness against you and will eat your flesh like fire.” Gold and silver do not rust! Could James be referring to such severe monetary debasement (hyperinflation), that the whole society is brought down? Read verses 1-3. It seems crystal clear that the Biblical definition of inflation is monetary debasement.
Notice one final reference to inflation in Haggai 1:6-7, “And he who earns wages, earns wages to put into a bag with holes. Thus says the LORD of hosts: “Consider your ways!” What an apt analogy to describe the effects of inflation, a bag with holes! With a purchasing power of fourteen cents of the 1940 dollar, it is blatantly obvious that the dollar is holely, not holy! Caesar’s monies are inflated. God’s money is not.
People like to tell you that gold was used to support slavery, and therefore you should buy Bitcoin, but Bitcoin is not Biblical; it’s actually just the opposite. From my vantage point, gold is freedom from slavery, and there is a relationship between God and gold that we have not fully understand, especially knowing it does not come from man or Earth, but was brought here by asteroids from some other part of the universe. I encourage you to think about currency, debt, and where we are going with that…and really pray about sound money and the part you are playing to bring about the new kingdom, with a new “free” people who live in mutual symbiosis and love.
