Who’s Agapy?

Agapy (aka Wendy Williamson) is me, a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer (Cameroon and Ecuador), retired study abroad director, mother, thinker, author, publisher, and more. Agapy.com is where I share what I have to offer as a writer and publisher, currently interested in helping people get real, in a world that’s been managed, manipulated, and financialized to zero.

While I’ve acquired some knowledge about markets and the global economy, my profession is international education. For this reason, I am poor in material wealth but rich in world experience. I studied Communication and Culture in college, and I’ve lived and worked in Africa, South America, Europe, and the United States. I also have a Master’s degree in Counselor Education: Administration of College Student Affairs.

Through all the changes in my life—and there have been many—my writing doesn’t change. It gives me equanimity; it is a gift that helps me grow. I love learning and derive great satisfaction from sharing what I learn with others. Agapy.com is not monetized (other than some book sales); it’s just me doing what I do best. I’m intellectual and spiritual, and I spend every day seeking balance in various areas of my body-mind-soul. My recent books include:

Love Evil: An extraordinary journey of the heart

Study Abroad Map: The complete student guide to college beyond the USA (replaced Study Abroad 101 after three editions)

I also wrote several articles in The Chronicle of Higher Education, including: The Quest for Collaboration in Study Abroad (June 23, 2011), In Study Abroad, Simple Is Sophisticated (December 9, 2010), Study Abroad: Revenue Drain or Stream? (October 2, 2010), and 7 Signs of Successful Study-Abroad Programs (July 25, 2010).

In my younger years, I authored two books about Christ-centered martial arts ministry that you can find through the published books tab, and on Amazon.

And last but not least, I’ve published a handful of other authors under Agapy Publishing.
